A wide variety of issues come before the Legislature each session. Some can be anticipated, but others cannot. It is important for our legislators to bring a variety of experience and viewpoints to this work. On any issue, legislators should be prepared to understand the facts, hear multiple viewpoints, weigh competing factors, and always keep the good of the people of Minnesota in mind.

Each election year we typically have two public opportunities to hear from MN House and Senate candidates about issues important to the district's residents. The League of Women Voters Candidate Forum will be held Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2016, in the Shoreview City Council Chambers. The forum for House candidates begins at 6:30. We also typically have a forum sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce. That date has not yet been announced.
